We can quickly crop the white margins on PC in advance, though, using some pdf editor or free apps like k2pdfopt or Briss.

We can also quickly crop(cut) two-column pdf vertically or horizontally in half, or in four rectangles per page, if our older 8" or 10" ereader lacks such capability or is slower in that case.
