The title in your Kindle doesn't have the author name in it, but I presume that the filename of the file you emailed didn't have the author name in it either. In other words the filename was probably Penric's Labors.epub, not Penric's Labor - Lois McMaster Bujold.epub.

Every file I've emailed via calibre lately (which includes the author in the filename by default) arrives in the Kindle library with the author in both the title and the author slots. This is unfortunately by design since Amazon no longer regards that little hyphen in the filename as indicating that an author follows. It gets its author info from the file contents and regards everything in the filename as a title. You must have removed the author from the filename somehow. OR MORE LIKELY, Amazon is being inconsistent. That wouldn't be surprising.
