I'm not sure where the serial number is recorded other than looking in the GUI or the original packaging. Since you already need to open your Kobo Aura Edition 2 to access the uSD card, if you can't find the serial number, I would just image a uSD card with one of the two images. If it doesn't work, then try the other image.

If you make an image of your old uSD card, the serial number should be located at the 0x200 mark (look for something like SN-Nabcdefghijkl ). It can also be found elsewhere in the image in the form deviceSerial>Nabcdefghijkl</deviceSerial> and multiple times as Nabcdefghijkl.

The only one I've changed is the one located at 0x200 since after a factory reset, that seems to be set as the serial number.
