"Fart" means speed in Norwegian too, and "smell" means "bang" (as in a sudden loud noise). There a silly joke about a Norwegian person trying to describe a sledding accident in English, and saying "I started out with a great fart, but ended up at the bottom of the hill with a terrible smell"
