Yup.
I have about 500 books (mostly Gutenberg and current library books) and about 2000 guitar transcriptions. In two separate applications I can type a few letters and find what I want. By default it searches all the metadata (title, author/artist, tags, first line). I can limit it to a single field, but rarely do.
