There has been no PineNote news posted on the PINE64 blog for months and nothing of note or much at all in the PineNote subforums. There was a disappointing comment in the comments section of this month's post in the PINE64 blog in response to a comment asking about PineNote progress

There are two people working on PineNote software, their work is spread across about fourteen github repos, and you can select which functionality does not work by switching among repos. There’s pretty much nobody doing any integration work, so doing anything at all is a process of cross-compiling on a real computer followed by hours of screwing around with a usb-serial connection. Most people just use the stock android.
