Nathan (of The eBook Reader) is pretty sure it's not a Carta 1200. When he compares the 2022 Kindle screen to a Paperwhite 3, they look almost identical.

The four LEDs is what makes me think it's the same screen assembly as Amazon used on the Paperwhite 3, which also had 4 LEDs. I still think the PW3 is pretty good, even with 4 LEDs. But then I may be wrong as the reversed screen on the Kindle 2022 is pretty good, and may mean it's better than the Paperwhite screen. The refresh rate is definitely better on the new 2022 Kindle.
