I think there may be an extra consideration. If the kepubs are created in the calibre library they will have a file extension of .kepub. To be recognised as kepub by the Kobo they will need to have a (double) file extension of .kepub.epub. The Kobo drivers (KOBOTOUCH and KOBOTOUCHEXTENDED) already have the mechanism to do this simple auto-renaming. I may be mistaken but I don't think the SmartDevice driver currently has this, does it?
