Hi,

this is a (rather obvious, I admit) suggestion for those of you who, like me, find the rather modest battery life and the whincing sound of the battery while discharging annoying:
An external USB battery pack worth 25 Euros multiplies the battery capacity by four, giving me about 24 hours reading and scribbling with one charge. While powering the DR1000 with it, the internal battery makes no noise. (Of course you have to be lucky to get a silent USB battery then, I got one from portablepowersupplies UK, which is great).
