This had a significant plot twist that just left us cold and we stopped watching. I don't want to spoil it here, but his female companion does something while they are in a major city--let's say she twists his arm, to get something she wants. And...that's about it. She apparently gets it, or gets agreement to get it, almost without resistance. Nothing "bad" happens to her, at that point.
I just found it
woefully unbelievable. That she'd do it, in the first damn place, seeing what she'd seen; that he wouldn't take immediate, decisive action--maybe this gets resolved in a "the best revenge is served cold" way, later, but...we both just couldn't move past it. It was one of those "OH COME ON, GIMME A BREAK!" things that you yell at the Telly, ya know?
I'll be interested if it was simply we two that had that immediate knee-jerk "no way am I wasting more time on this" reaction to it.
