I bought one of those mini camera tripods with three bendable feet.
I sawed off one foot. The diameter is a bit over 1/4"
I took a 1/4-20 threaded coupler, ground the inside diameter of half of it with a power tool so that the foot could fit.
I put a 1/4-20 set screw in the other end peeking out 5/16" or so and glued the components fixed.
A little O ring on the end makes the fit have some give so it stays.
If I were to make another I might use a 1/4-20 nylon coupler to reduce weight.
The case has a 1/4-20 T nut glued on.
I've also put the T nuts directly on the device without a case and even inside the device.
You can grind down the height of the stub if you want to make it more low key.
Even if I'm not using the foot as a stand it allows me to balance it in my hand without gripping the reader.
I've done this on my 6" readers since the Nook Simple Touch.
The white connector is the hardware console that gives me root access even during booting.
I've also always done that since the NST.
