I used a magnet and found the location of the Sleepcover sensor, and placed folded foil between it and the back of the case. That seems to be working so far. It is hard to remember to turn off the power button when closing the case, since it used to work, and I have many years of muscle memory to defeat (between this and a Kindle Voyage).

Kobo and Amazon keep passing the buck back and forth. Hoping for a resolution soon...
