That has been calibre's standard behaviour for a long time (version 1 if I recall correctly). OTOH, if you are not modifying the metadata, calibre will be embedding the same metadata each time the file is sent.

I'm rather curious as to how that messes up the KOReader progress sync mechanism unless you are modifying the metadata between each device you send the epub to and if you are doing so, why?
