I wasn't aware of this book folder. I guess it ihas the same function of the Calibre library, but, even so, it is of no use because unfortunately it doesn't contain the books I removed the DRM from and converted to PDF.
I think I begin to understand why: after the successful DRM removal and the PDF conversion, I deleted all the titles both from the main Calibre console and the conversion screen , because I thought they had already been automatically moved to the Calibre Library folder as always. .
May be they got deleted from the library, too.
I can't see any othere reason why they disappeared from Calibre Library. May be you can comment on this .
I wouldn't be in this quagmire if I could use the Cloud, but for my purposes it is highly umpractical.
My books contain Latin and Greek works in the original language with the English translation. Unfortunately, text and translation do not face one another, page by page, for ready reference, but are contained separately in different parts ot the book. This forces me to jump back and forth continuously between different parts of the book,
It is time consuming.
The only way to avoid this is to convert the book to PDF ( the format I prefer) and open it not from the Cloud, but from my PC library Then I open the same book twice in two separate PDF readers ( Foxit Reader)
ne Foxit Reader will be for the Greek or Latin text page and the other one for the translation. This way, I can can always refer quickly to the the text or the translation as needed.
As a classic scholar, I always need to do this in order to make sure that, as is often the case, the English translations are not too creative, missing too much out of the original text.
In most cases not only do most of the translations used today go as far back as the end of of the XIX th- early XXth cent and their English is dated, if not pedantic, but the authors ,seem to be more concerned with ornate, literary style, than fidelity. to the text.
