If your computer runs Windows or MacOS, then you can use File Sharing to drag and drop files right into the Kindle app on your iPad. No need to go through Amazon at all. I do it this way because there are no file size limits and some of my cookbooks that have a lot of photos are too big for Send to Kindle.

To find the file you want to transfer, just use the link in Calibre's book details pane to open the path to that book's folder. If you need to move a lot of files at once, it's easier to use Calibre's "Save to disk in a single folder" to get them all in one place first.
