Since my daugther stills lives at home and likes to have her laundry done and to eat home cook meals, I am pretty sure she doesn't want to go that route!!

Not to mention, although I think I already have, I'm from Chicago and tend to be a bit brash, so she generally steers clear of pressing too many of my buttons!

Just to confuse matters, there's also the 2CV - a very cute, old car
So how do they get away with it, and more to the point, how do they get you to listen and take heed? The reason I'm asking is that I'd love for mum to stop using txtspk mostly because I can't understand most of it! (I'm in my late 30s but have been using mobiles the 'net for far longer than she has, yet she's picked up txtspk like she learnt it at birth!)

My daughter enjoys clueing me in on the nuassances of texting etiquette that I seem to have missed by raising children, taking care of a home, and working full-time!! I still haven't gotten my mind around the fact that she would rather text her friends than pick up a phone and actually talk to them.

I keep telling her that is why the phone was invented, so that we didn't have to sit down and write letters! Never mind the fact that I teach language to elementary students and am constantly correcting spelling and grammar mistakes. It goes against my sense of purpose to use acronyms so blythely! Okay! Now I really do sound like an "old fogey"!!

I know that I live in my own little insular world over on this side of the pond, but those cars look like something from an old James Bond movie, one that Sean Connery would drive. They are so much more classy than the Honda Odyssey mini-van in which I drive 3 kids and 3 dogs around!!
