It's quite elaborate, but I seem recall it was developed to meet a users complex request, the set names (Apples, Cherries etc) are user configurable.

But not for people who have been editing composite column templates in the booklist 'forever' - i.e. people like me. In my editing Views I put them as the right most columns so that I am less likely to tab into them whilst editing - but I can tap F2 if I want to look/edit at them.
