New member here though I bought my first Kindle in December 2007. I upgraded this spring to the Kindle 2 which I like better in several ways although it is harder to turn the pages with one hand while eating with the other.

Yesterday I had something unusual happen. I am used to people asking me WHAT my Kindle does when they see me reading it. Now for only the second time has a stranger asked me if it was a Kindle. Then he said that he was seeing a lot of people coming in to eat lunch and read on them.

Looks like ebooks are really making headway.
