Device: kindle pw
USBNet - not showing in NIC's

Hi All,

I'm attempting to get my Kindle/PW1 up and running as a literary clock.

I've managed to JB it OK running firmware 5.3.5 and have installed USBNet 0.22 - I am able to start a SSH session over WiFi and when I toggle over to USB mode I am never able to see a RNDIS/Generic network connection and therefor cannot SSH via USB. I have tried Ubuntu/Windows 11/Windows 10 all with the same result.

I need to get the USB session working as I do not know the password for WiFi (both SSHD and DropBear) - all attempts at the serial based password do not work

Is there something else I need to do to get the USB Network interface to show? (so I can SSH locally)

see attached screenshot that shows that the 'device' is seen but does not show in device manager
