I stated previously that I didn't think Amazon would make any changes to improve the conversion of EPUBs for personal documents. I was wrong. I tried sending several EPUBs that previously failed when emailed due to TOC issues and they now work.

In my tests if a TOC link was to a non-existent target then only that link was removed. If any links were to hidden elements or body elements then the entire TOC was discarded. A mis-ordered TOC was also dropped completely.

Unfortunately, EPUBs with missing character encoding still produce bad results.
