Yeah, I do get what he means and agree with him. I was pretty letdown with the Paperwhite 4 as with my screen, the difference from the Paperwhite 3 that I was used to, was extreme. I also was excited to have a newer device and figured upgraded meant faster than a previous release with a four year difference...but no. The contrast issues (when I had to start really bolding font for the first time to improve clarity) and sluggishness depressed me. I kept mine but don't use it. When I have to use a paperwhite, I use the older 3, but my main reading is still on the Oasis.
Some may have had better screens, that seems a common issue with the same releases.
