This podcast is basically a recounting of the press release, but Len is hoping to interview the head of Kindle group prior to launch, and will probably have a review device in his hands soon.

It's not really accurate to call it an 'upgrade of Kindle PW3', which is rather a larger form factor. It follows in the Basic line as being more compact and lighter, and in fact is slightly smaller and lighter than the 10th generation Basic (lightest Kindle ever?). It's going to have a newer and more capable processor than previous generation, hoping it is the same as PW5's. I might have to get one when it goes on sale (maybe trade in one of my 'extras').
Despite the lower screen resolution and fewer LEDs, I've found them pleasant to use (too bad they don't have white this time around).
I agree that PW4 overdid the anti-glare measures, at the expense of clarity/contrast. I have 10th gen Kindle next to one here, and it somehow looks better with the normal sort of indirect daylight coming in through my office window. Between the mediocre display and comparatively sluggish performance, I pretty much stopped using the PW4 when I got my first iPad mini, but PW5 has regained 'reading share' on the strength of better performance, display and screen size.
