No, it's not, and BD is a remarkable piece of software, for all it's idiosyncracies. However, it doesn't take too much knowledge of HTML/CSS to create a HTML 'source' which can then be run through Calibre to produce a decent ePub.

The problem is that while BD's good as far as it goes, if you want to go beyond that, e.g. drop-caps, aren't you stuck? HTML/CSS might be a steeper learning curve than BD, but it should go further, i.e. a lot more things should be possible with it.
