The stylus is OK to annotate PDF manuals for on screen use. It may add a layer if the PDF isn't protected such that you can copy to something else.
It's useless to annotate epubs because unlike typed on BT keyboard or touch keyboard there is no text to export. Handwriting to text is only in Advanced Notebooks, basically a bought in application (Nebo).
Stylus use on actual ebooks is less functionality and no faster than a finger. I make font bigger if I'm doing a lot of highlight + annotate.

So it's not worth figuring out how to use it on a kepub.
