Don't worry about it, it's a peculiarity of the Windows/calibre interaction.

When calibre adds/changes/removes authors and books to the library it does it in the safest way possible, which involves complexities such as multiple hardllnks and temporary files - Windows gets confused. The black square simply means there were some read only files in here at some point in time.

IIRC some Spanish keyboard layouts don't have a backslash/slosh key, you have to use an Alt+number sequence, or a keyboard macro (e.g AHK).
