It's funny how we use terms all the time that we know what they mean but someone from a different country or even state has no idea what we are talking about. DixieGal reminded me about how we in the Midwest call carbonated soft drinks, "pop"! I was reading a book where the main character (a citizen of London) presented someone with a "CV". From the context I took it to be his resume. Was I correct?

Yes, Curriculum Vitae, CV is commonly used, although I've seen Resume popping up here and there
