This relates to another thread running about the English language:
It's funny how we use terms all the time that we know what they mean but someone from a different country or even state has no idea what we are talking about. DixieGal reminded me about how we in the Midwest call carbonated soft drinks, "pop"! If they were offered a pop, someone from the South who had never heard that before would have no idea what they were getting!!

Weedeater - a power tool used to trim grass along a fence, sidewalk, etc.

I was reading a book where the main character (a citizen of London) presented someone with a "CV". From the context I took it to be his resume. Was I correct?
