Correct, it would be because the OTA bin files were renamed. What you could do is factory reset, apply an official update through a reboot, and start over again. I ran into this issue myself as well.
To get the version you desire (can't be lower than what you currently have installed unless if you ran the downgrade script beforehand), you just take the update link and rename the version to the one you want.
