I'm experiencing the same issue when auto merge book with different format (pub and mobi). I have set "Preferences->Adding books->Adding actions" Auto-merge added books if they already exist: check to true and selected "Overwrite existing duplicate formats".
After I add same book in epub and mobi format it goes through the process and shows the merge warning:
"The following 2 duplicate books were found. Incoming book
formats were processed and merged into your calibre database
according to your auto-merge settings. Click "Show details" to see
the list of merged books."
But after I click OK nothing is added to my database. The log file just says 0 records added.
Calibre ver 6.3.0
Any ideas?
