As hleo12 wrote it shows up in the sharing menu for EPUB files. For example if you have an EPUB attachment in an email you can click on it to share it to the Kindle app, just like you can for MOBI files. There is a popup dialog with options to change the title, author, destination, and to add it to your library.

The EPUB is sent to Amazon's servers and delivered back to Kindle for iOS in MOBI format. Kindle for iOS does not support KF8 (azw3) and Send to Kindle does not convert to the better AZK/KCR or KFX formats.
