The name you see displayed can be spoofed. You need to get down to the IP address level and do lookups on that, and find out what domain it is associated with, the controlling email address for the domain, etc.

If you receive something reportedly from Amazon, and find that the originating IP address is somewhere in Somalia or Haiti, that's a pretty good clue that you're not actually dealing with Amazon.
