Hi, all.

I continue to have problems finding a best practice for managing my highlights. In addition to restrictions with DRM-protected content (even for ebooks I've purchased), I notice that there are often discrepancies in the completeness of my captured highlights between my e-reader's My Clippings folder and the Amazon Read program online.

I currently use an older Kindle Paperwhite and Calibre. I'm willing to purchase a new e-reader or software if required. But perhaps there's a workaround?

1) Is DRM-protected content tracked the same way for different e-readers? Is there a way to remove those restrictions for content I own?
2) Is there a different e-reader that is more generally compatible with Calibre and might have a built-in function to facilitate the transfer of highlights?
