no.
That quoted range of firmware versions is covered with this jailbreak.
Prior to this method the older one (called "KindleBreak") covered a different range (mentioned in that topic's first post) of firmware versions:

So since your Kindle is currently using older firmware (5.8.11) in order to jailbreak it you would have to
manually update to a newer firmware version of your choice (as long as it is any of those listed as supported & is available for your Kindle model) and based on the firmware you've installed then use appropriate jailbreak method (KindleBreak OR WatchThis) to jailbreak it.
