For Kindles: Use the Metadata Plugboard

That takes Library data (in its proper locations) and inserts it into a field that the device uses. The Library remains untouched

I have K4, so I can put the series name into Collections (Kindle Collections PI. )
You must jailbreak you newer Kindle to do similar
