Stomping Bear had fought the American pioneers when they moved onto his land, reigning terror before the futility of it disillusioned him. Stealthy enough that none could ever prove his actions, he was able to retire to a small reservation with his family, and live out what peace her could in his new situation. But when word comes of his son's death he takes up the hatchet again, determined to get his revenge even if it meant his death.
