Calibre 6.x UX issue - all text is greyscale
I did a search but didn't see this issue mentioned. If it was and I missed it, I apologize.
It's less a Calibre problem than a new QT version problem, but I don't know what the fix might be.
I run Calibre on an HP desktop with twin 23" monitors, under Win 10 Pro with 20GB RAM and Intel HD 4600 on board graphics. OS and applications rre on a 256GB SSD, with two SATA HDs for data storage. I'm not a gamer, so the box is entirely adequate for my needs.
I don't keep current on Calibre point releases, and was still on the 5.44 release. I got a note there was a new major version of Calibre and decided it was time to upgrade. I had to uninstall and revert to the last 5.X version.
I'm beginning to have age related vision problems. One major one is the online default standard of gray type on a white background. There is insufficient contrast, and half the time I can't read it. I had already boosted Calibre's default font size and shifted to boldface on the 5.44 release.
Calibre 6.x is all grayscale text. Pure black seems to no longer be there. I simply can't use it.
There is nothing in 6.X I absolutely have to have, and 5.44 meets my needs, but it would be nice to be able to upgrade and still use Calibre.
Has this issue been reported? Is there an easy fix? If there is, please point me to it.
Thanks in advance.
