Personally, I don't use tags or collections. On my Kobo's I use search by author and/or series to locate books. Given the majority of my 13,000 ebook collection is Science Fiction or Fantasy, using genre tags was no longer a viable option so I finally dropped all tags and the only collection is my Finished ebooks.
