I’ve decided to nuke my to-read list on StoryGraph/Goodreads as it was making reading not fun.
I do keep a wishlist on Kobo, which I like since it’s unobtrusive. I check it occasionally and cull it. I use it mainly for books I can’t find at the library and want to remember to read eventually. It has 50 books but should really be trimmed to around 25.
Otherwise I just read randomly. I get recommendations from places like Reddit, Kobo book sales, YouTube, library collections, forums like this one… I’ve found good books this way. A lot of books I’ll stumble upon multiple times as recommendations and that usually gets me to try it. I really like reading without a list, it’s a lot more fun that way and I’ve found some authors I really enjoy.
