Not needed. Those are 1 tap away. The only patch/addition I found worthwhile (other than edit of Kobo Reader.conf) was KOReader for the Elipsa. But I removed it now that there is PDF zoom lock. I don't even have a header or footer on on smaller Kobos, only the progress bar. I only have the header & footer on the Sage and Elipsa.

Kobo works so well with Calibre.

It's so easy to find your books on a Kobo. I only use kepub for tests, so don't need the patch to match epub and kepub sizes.

Certainly there are things on the Nook or Kindle that need changed more than anything on my Sony PRS-350, but the value of the Kobo is that though it's not locked down like a Kindle there is really no need to patch anything or install extra programs.

I've had or have 8 brands of ereaders, have had or tried 6 different Kobo models, 2 different Sonys, 3 different Binatones and 7 different Kindles. Also tested many ereader apps on Android from Android 4 to Android 10 and screen 4.3" to 10". So I 've got a basis to compare.
