I can confirm that something is going on. I have 2 PCs on the same network One running 5.44.0 and 6.2.1. The 6.2.1 gives a 429 error while downloading via Calibre, but via web browser that is not a problem.

At the same time the 5.44 is able to successfully download metadata from google.
