If the books were sideloaded, you should be able to see them in Device view in calibre. If they are downloaded from Amazon, they are inaccessible.

OTOH, you might want to consider that if the books are under copyright, what you are suggesting is ebook piracy which is not condoned on MobileRead. So unless your "friend' lent you a Kindle full of public domain books, this is likely to be the only reply you get.
