Our heat wave *almost* broke today, but we reached 90°. Yesterday we were forecast to reach 101°, but we only got to 98. The humidity was still high enough to drive the heat index to about 105°.

Our high temperatures have been in the high 90s for a week, now. Unfortunately, our air conditioner developed a bit of a problem on Thursday -- it throws in the towel if the temperatures get into the upper 90s. I've been able to nurse it along until a service technician can get here by cranking the temperature lower at night and then turning the AC off in the afternoon. It's not ideal, but it's livable. (Service technicians seem to be very, very busy right now!)

The temperatures are expected to moderate this week. And we're supposed to get rain, which should help.
