It seems to happen when I drag the borders of the trimmed section outside of the original cover - if you look closely at my first screenshot, I dragged it all the right to the right edge.

Defiantly an (over) the edge case
(you really need to stop feeding me straight lines)
It should be handled better (or simply stop you from going outside the box)
