Does it work from within a book. I believe that is @maddz is asking. It sounds like if they put the device down for a while, they want to be presented with the list of books in progress to be chosen from rather than just continue with the last opened book.
@maddz: The only thing I can think of is to set the automatic poweroff when sleeping. That will mean you are turning the device on instead of waking it, but, when it starts, it will show the home screen. I don't think that is a very good way to do it, but, I can't think of another way. I sort of do it, but, by using two devices. I sort of read novels on one and short stories on another. It isn't as clear-cut as that, but, it means I pickup whichever device happens to have the book/story I want at the moment.
