That'll take me to about the end of Oct 2022, meaning just about a full year of KU for only $1.99. I like having KU because several of the KU AmazonClassics have Audible companions.

Regarding Amazon's algorithm (or randomizer? ), I feel like the stingier I am with their subscription services, the more they try to 'bless' me. With Audible, I only ever did free trials and promos and have never paid for an audiobook. Yet, surprisingly, I qualified for their $1.95 a month Audible Plus offer, which I'm still using and loving. This was also the very time Audible ever got money from me. But my friend, who has done several subscriptions off and on and has paid for audiobooks in the past, didn't qualify.

About two weeks ago, Audible sent me an offer to upgrade from Plus to Premium Plus with a $60.00 discount off the annual fee and I had a chuckle at that. Why would I upgrade? I don't care about credits and I don't need to own audiobooks, just listen to them. If I really liked a book I listened to, I'd just get the ebook. Also, the Plus catalog has more than enough buffet for me to sample, I'd never get to it all. $1.99 is a super-sweet deal and I'm not getting off unless Audible throws me off.
Amazon doesn't lose much by repeatedly offering me KU free trials; maybe that's why they keep doing it! As far as Audible goes, I am the opposite of you--the Plus catalog has minimal appeal; I want credits. I am currently on an annual plan that is essentially half-price, which Audible offered me last Black Friday.
