Sorry, I was away for a couple of days.
That Mac driver issue from a few months ago with KTE was me. I appear to be running KTE 3.6.0.
It is not always the 5th book. If I upload single books at a time, everything goes fine. I think it might be the total MB of books uploaded, because I failed with only updating 2 large books one time, while I can sometimes to 8 small books.
The timeline was: I was running Calibre 5.44, and everything was working fine. I saw the update was available for Kobo Utilities 2.16.4, so I installed it. I tried to load a batch of books to my Libra 2, and Calibre crashed. I was thinking that it might have a Calibre 6.0 dependency, so I upgraded Calibre, but it still behaved badly.
