I understand that logic. I was highlighting the issue that some things need you "logged in", though they don't use any account info.

As far as I can see ONLY trying to open an Advanced Notebook triggers the attempt to download the recognition stuff. On a new Sage the directory for Nebo sw & tools is missing, attempting to open an Advanced Notebook creates it even if download fails (but then it's empty).
On one Sage I couldn't get Advanced Notebook to download. FW downloads in general worked. Maybe the server needed was offline. I solved it by copying from a working Sage.
Oddly the Elipsa when new didn't trigger a download when I opened the Advanced Notebook. But the Elipsa comes with the stylus/pen and when New/Reset the Sage hasn't even the Notebooks Icon.
