Yah, USB's on the bottom edge, yvanleterrible. I've been carrying mine around in a hollowed-out book (as camoflage against idle pilferage) and I don't miss access to the ports.
I don't really connect it to the PC that often, in the first place, so having to take it out of a box or cover wouldn't be any real burden to me, so long as it's not
difficult to take it out.
You can see the ports in the pix I attached to my
review -- no good for measurements, of course, but you can get an idea of the placements from them.
