We went for a refurb from eBay, as there was a stunning deal of a "Grade C" refurb for £520, instead of £900 new.
The "Grade C" turned out more like a "Grade A". In original packaging, and not a scratch on it (that I could find).
It's now installed and working great. The two headsets connected without any difficulty, and when either (or both) or them are turned on, they automatically connect to the TV and the the main sound is turned off.
As a bonus, it also has automatic recording of Live TV (with appropriate USB storage), so if we are watching something on an over-the-air channel, we can pause and/or rewind very easily.
And I must admit that the OLED display is nicer that the LCD/LED display of the old set.
On the whole, a very satisfactory outcome. Once the refund comes through

Hi:
That sounds like it was a fantastic deal. Now that Mr. Hitch has such severe hearing issues, even with his inordinately expensive hearing aids, I'm thinking that he might very much like a TV similar to what you have. We have a lovely, higher-end Samsung--hell, for all I know, it may already have this capability. I didn't check when we bought it, which wasn't long ago.
Thanks, Paul!
