mobi has very limited functionality. The only thing that's going for it is its support for periodical formatting, especially its ability to skip articles with a swipe.. as well as sent to Kindle which isn't reliable anymore.
kfx can be used with periodicals where the navigation bar is placed at the top and end of the article. Similar method can be used for azw3. (It actually converts but is creating problems like mentioned above with kindle.. it just might have a small fix somewhere)
but kfx takes too long to convert and uses a lot of processing power if the output is larger.
